Make plans now to attend the first annual Susanville Bluegrass Festival. This event will be held June 25th—27th at the Lassen County Fairground in Susanville, California. Located 80 miles West of Reno, Nevada, Susanville sits in a beautiful valley, surrounded by tree covered mountains. Nestled in at the 4200 ft. elevation level, you can be assured of beating the summer heat in the valley. For those who want to come early, there are many things to do such as hiking, mountain biking, or fishing for trout in some of the most productive streams and lakes in California. The Diamond Mountain Casino is close to town for those who want to try their hand at a game of chance as well. The main stage audience area is shaded all day. There will be an air-conditioned room set up for those who like to quilt: complete with tables and the stage music piped in. There will be children’s activities each day, a dance on Friday night and a car show on Saturday. Both food and craft vendors will be onsite. Friday and Saturday nights will feature Lance Brown as Will Rogers. He will be doing the MC work, as well as a stage show each of those nights. Advance sale 3 day event tickets for adults are only $30, and for teens they are $10. Camping is only $10/night for either tents or RV’s. You will be able to arrive at the fairgrounds to camp starting at 12:00 noon on Tuesday the 22nd.
